The Board of Trustees of Celebration Jewish Congregation is pleased to announce CJC's High Holy Days Program for our new year, 5776.
Services will be held on Erev Rosh Hashanah, Sunday night, September 13th; Rosh Hashanah morning, Monday, September 14th; Kol Nidre, Tuesday night, September 22nd; and Yom Kippur morning, Wednesday, September 23rd.
All services will be held at Celebration's Heritage Hall, 951 Spring Park Street, Celebration, FL 34747 and will be lead by Rabbi Dr. Richard M. Cowin. Dr. Cowin will be joined by CJC’s former Director of Education, Wendi Harris, for Torah/Haftarah readings. Sounding of the shofar will be performed by Josh Grossman, a CJC congregant for many years. We are honored to have both Wendi and Josh contribute their talents to our services.
It is with great pleasure that we announce that Dr. Norton Christeson, renowned Tenor and Professor of Music at Daytona State College, and his wife, Soprano/Professor Jane Christeson of Stetson University, will once again participate as our Cantorial Soloists for the High Holy Day services this year.
Evening services will begin at 6:30 p.m., Morning services will begin at 9:00 a.m. Yizkor will begin at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Yom Kippur.
Suggested contributions are the same as last year for all services - $75 for adults and $35 for children ages 4 thru 12 - and are intended to defray costs and encourage maximum family participation.
Due to the relatively small size of our congregation, we will again be holding only one family service for all ages. Unfortunately, we are unable to host a nursery for our younger attendees. While congregants of all ages are welcome, we ask for your cooperation in respecting your fellow congregants’ desire to worship and enjoy our High Holy Day services by excusing yourselves and your younger children to a more quiet area “at the start of a cry.” Your cooperation and understanding are most appreciated. Thank you.
Please RSVP by writing Mark Greenstein at gmark10 AT msn DOT com, and indicate how many adults and children will be attending.
If you would like to host a Shabbat or Havdalah service, please use the Contact Link on the left to indicate your interest or ask any questions about what it involves. It's easy. We will be happy to help you create an enjoyable event for the area Jewish community.
